Chris was born and raised in Calgary, Canada. He currently devotes most of his time to his two biggest passions, education and travel. He is currently based in Nairobi, Kenya working for the Aga Khan University. He has lived and taught in Canada and Jordan.

Among other things Chris enjoys backpacking, couchsurfing (the inspiration for many of these stories), cycling, and of course, teaching. One might also describe him as a political junkie, wannabe comedian, and advocate for issues near and dear to his heart like public education, Indigenous issues, and global development.

He's also notorious for starting projects and then letting them die. It's November 2019, so let's see how long this one lasts...
